about
t's Mental Health Awareness Week #MHAWNZ - and Ive released a song.....
NIGHTBIRD - ‘A dreamy gothic country tale of a fragile soul that has wandered into the dark side’
Nightbird brings dreamy dark guitar Gavin Dowling that flies with an edgy yet seductive violin (Krissy Jackson) to a ‘gothic country groove’ laid down by Alex Griffith (bass) and Michael Barker(drums) from a CNZ project recorded at Revolver with Peter Wood after the end of the first year of Covid.
Released for Mental health Awareness week, I've held on to this song written almost 2 years ago because of its personal meaning to me, mental health became a struggle which reached an all time wall during this year. Letting it go finally is a kind of creative release....
“You may reach a stage in your life where it just feels like an emotional and mental boxing ring, and (LYRICS) the dark horse, the black dog, the deep water can pull one under – and the Nightbird you hear during the night can feel like a seductive call away from reality, those dark thoughts that may not leave you when your world has become blurred and distorted – thats the inspiration for this song.”....this years theme is about re-connection - we've got to re connect.
The beautiful artwork is by Tamaasa.

Its time to reconnect ❤ Thank you to the people that helped me break through the wall - you know who you are ❤'wherever your thoughts are, you are there'
lyrics
I see my dark horse come riding, come to carry me away
I see my dark horse come riding, come to carry me away
And I know that I cant stay, I know that I can’t stay
I know that I can’t stay
I hear my Black Dog is barking, warns me dangers at my door
I hear my Black Dog is barking, warns me dangers at my door
He’s warned me once before, he’s warned me once before
He’s warned me once before
I feel the deep water rising, and surround me head to toe
I feel the deep water rising, and surround me head to toe
And I know that I must go, I know that I must go,
I know that I must go
I hear my Nightbird is calling, songs that haunt me in my sleep
I hear my Nightbird is calling, songs that haunt me in my sleep
Singing secrets that you keep, singing secrets that you keep,
singing secrets that you keep
I see my Dark Horse come riding, come to carry me away
I see my Dark Horse come riding, come to carry me away
And I know that I can’t stay, I know that I can’t stay, I know that I can’t stay.
